Background
‘erik bagger as’ was established in 2003. Today the products from the Danish design company decorate dinner tables all over the world. In the autumn of 2007 a new, large head office opened its doors in Allerød outside Copenhagen. Behind the company you find Designer and Art Director Erik Bagger, Man. Director Frederik Oluf Brønnum and Investor M. Goldschmidt Capital A/S. Mikael Goldschmidt became a shareholder in April 2007, www.mgh.dk.
Erik Bagger was originally trained as a goldsmith with Georg Jensen. However, after some years with jewellery, the interest in the functional design took over and Erik Bagger established his own design business FormFunction. In 1987 Erik Bagger teamed up with Rosendahl which resulted in a number of unsurpassed sales successes in the following years, e.g. the wine line of ‘Grand Cru’ made of steel and rubber.
In 2003, Erik Bagger decided to initiate his third design era by founding ‘erik bagger as’ together with Frederik Oluf Brønnum. Frederik Oluf Brønnum has also worked with functional design throughout his entire career – on the sales side. Not least through Oluf Brønnum A/S, a supplier of catering centres.
And they are not in doubt: The combination of Erik Bagger’s long experience and Frederik Brønnum’s youthful drive has formed the basis of their international design success.
