Maria Berntsen

arena is the name of the new ceramic series by the famous designer Maria Berntsen, designed especially for erik bagger a/s. The series consists of eleven different items in six different colours. The inspiration for the shapes and colours is derived from the beaches of the Nordic coastlines, which gives the series its unique atmosphere. Arena is also a tribute to Scandinavian gastronomy, which is much in vogue at the present time.

Asymmetrical shapes are combined with round and square elements with rounded corners, as though they have been polished by the ravages of time in the sea. The colours are delicate: moss green, stone grey, sand, light ochre, blue sky, cloudy blue. Each part has its own colour, allowing you to combine your own choices into a colour symphony for the table.

Stoneware has been chosen as the material, because it can withstand thermal shock. All of the products may be used for storing food in the refrigerator or freezer, and are safe for use in a microwave or ordinary oven. arena also includes an ovenproof jug in the same style.
